Connect Your Slicer (Draft)

What this does

Connecting a slicer lets you upload a sliced job from OrcaSlicer, PrusaSlicer, or BambuStudio directly to PrinterMon's file library, optionally pre-assigned to a printer. PrinterMon exposes a slicer-compatible API, so the slicer thinks it is talking to a regular OctoPrint or Klipper host.

Step 1. Copy the Slicer API key from PrinterMon

External screenshot needed. Need a fresh capture of Settings > General > OctoPrint/Klipper API Key showing the Copy and Regenerate buttons.

In PrinterMon, open Settings > General > OctoPrint/Klipper API Key. Click Copy.

Step 2. Add a printer host in your slicer

External screenshot needed. Need screenshot of OrcaSlicer Physical Printer / Connection settings showing Host Type, Host, and API Key fields.

In your slicer, add a new physical printer. Set Host Type to OctoPrint, Host to http://<your-printermon-host>:8888 and paste the API key. Save.

Step 3. Send a print from the slicer

External screenshot needed. Need screenshot of the slicer's Send to Printer dialog showing PrinterMon as the target.

Slice your model and click Send to Printer. The job uploads into PrinterMon's file library. From there you can assign it to a printer and start the print, the same as a manually uploaded job.

Slicer profile mappings

If you have multiple printers, map slicer profile names to PrinterMon printer IDs in Settings > Slicer. This lets PrinterMon auto-assign uploaded jobs to the correct physical printer based on which slicer profile sliced them.
