Settings: Share Anonymous Connection Data
This toggle sits inside the Account card on the General tab. It controls whether PrinterMon reports anonymised connection statistics back to the project.
What it does share
- Which printer firmwares this node connects to (Klipper, OctoPrint, Bambu Lab, etc.).
- Counts of printers by manufacturer/model.
- The PrinterMon version reporting the data.
What it does not share
- Job filenames, print history, G-code contents, slicer output.
- IP addresses, network topology, or anything that could identify the node's location.
- Email addresses, account names, or user identities.
- Camera feeds or thumbnails.
The data is used to prioritise firmware-specific features and to spot regressions when a particular printer/firmware combo starts misbehaving in a new release. The toggle is independent of the printermon.com account link state — turning it on doesn't link the node, and unlinking the node doesn't turn it off.
